How we work

Research designed to improve preparation—not manufacture certainty.

ZMI studies how ES futures approach, test, and respond to meaningful market-defined price levels. We use historical evidence to establish context and current price behavior to evaluate the live decision.

01Define

Specify the level, session, event sequence, time window and outcome before interpreting results.

02Measure

Preserve the observable sequence and establish transparent base rates across the eligible population.

03Condition

Test whether context such as opening location, overnight structure, volatility or time changes the result.

04Translate

Convert evidence into conditional scenarios without presenting tendencies as predictions or guarantees.

05Review

Compare the published framework with the completed session and update conclusions when evidence changes.

Research foundation

Start with an observable market event.

Research begins with a clearly defined question. A prior-day high, overnight low, VWAP, or another supported structural reference is not treated as an automatic trade signal. It is a location where the market’s response can be observed and classified.

Definitions distinguish approach, touch, breach, acceptance, rejection, reclaim, retest, continuation, failure, and unresolved behavior. The definitions and measurement window must be established before the result is interpreted.

Historical evidence

Base rates before compelling stories.

ZMI first measures the broad eligible population. We then evaluate narrower conditions to determine whether context meaningfully changes the historical outcome. This order reduces the risk of selecting a small group of attractive examples and mistaking them for a durable tendency.

Our historical ES research uses time-based price data organized into defined trading sessions. Data preparation, eligibility rules, holiday handling, exceptional-session treatment, and calculation logic are documented within each formal study.

Quality controls

Preserve the difference between evidence and interpretation.

  • Freeze definitions before final measurement.
  • Retain the eligible population and disclose exclusions.
  • Quarantine exceptional sessions rather than silently removing inconvenient outcomes.
  • Validate material findings against underlying price records.
  • Compare recent behavior with longer-term evidence to identify structural drift.
  • Label exploratory findings before treating them as publication-ready conclusions.

Publication

Probability provides context. Price behavior determines the decision.

Historical results describe what occurred under defined conditions; they do not tell us what must happen today. ZMI translates evidence into conditional paths: what would support acceptance, rejection, continuation, failure, or a stand-aside decision.

When the current session conflicts with the historical tendency or premarket lean, the live evidence takes priority. The framework is designed to adapt—not defend an opinion.

Important limitation: Historical tendencies and statistical probabilities are sensitive to their definitions, sample, data quality, market regime and implementation assumptions. They do not guarantee future results.
